Hi there, leaders! My name is General Robert Van Antwerp, a retired three-star general in the U.S. Army. Today I want to share with you a talk by Jim Boyce, CEO and president of Defender Direct, on his experience with the Flippen Group. Enjoy this talk and I’ll be back in a few minutes!
Hello, I'm Jim Boyce, president and chief executive officer of Defender, a home services company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana in the United States.
At Defender, we are called to grow and inspire leaders who love and serve people, and the Flippen Group is the perfect partner for us! Flip Flippen has served as my executive coach for the past year, and our work has been so effective that I recently asked the Flippen Group if they'd step in and help our newly appointed executive group to quickly become a tightly integrated and high-performing team.
The Flippen Group's approaches and methods accelerated by several months the process of us becoming a team. The tools they utilize are very effective at helping people in teams learn about the behavioral constraints that can hold us back from realizing our full potential. Flippen helped our team let go of the constraints that really don't matter, and they empowered each of us to own and work on the constraints that do matter.
Through Flip's involvement, our team has built a genuine sense of focus, empathy, camaraderie, and shared purpose. I think it's important to note the Flippen Group customized their approaches to what our company is called to do.
They don't take the same approach with every person, team, or company. Their work is customized and their tools, their methodologies - they work! The Flippen Group is honest with the teams, the people, the companies they work with. They don't shrink from the challenge of providing direct, constructive feedback.
